Description:

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated at St. Mary’s School on 15.8.25 with great pride, enthusiasm, and patriotic fervour. The day began with the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag. As the gathering stood in attention, the National Anthem filled the air, evoking a deep sense of unity and respect for the nation.

The cultural programme, presented by students from the middle school and some from the junior school, showcased the young talents of St. Mary’s in a vibrant display of song, dance, and drama. The choir’s soulful patriotic melodies stirred every heart, while an energetic dance to a medley of patriotic songs brought a burst of colour, rhythm, and joy to all. Recitation of an inspiring poem reminded the audience of the sacrifices and dreams that shaped India’s destiny.

A short skit transported everyone to the pages of history, as students portrayed iconic figures such as Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, Rani Laxmibai, and APJ Abdul Kalam. Their performances paid heartfelt tribute to these leaders’ courage, vision, and unwavering dedication to the nation.

The programme concluded with an inspiring address by the Principal, who spoke about the true meaning of freedom—not merely as independence from foreign rule, but as the responsibility to uphold values, embrace unity, and work towards the betterment of society.

The morning ended with pride in every heart, a renewed love for the nation, and a shared commitment to carry forward the legacy of those who fought for our freedom.
